Our Doctors
All of our physicians are board-certified in Pediatric Medicine and Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics. All of our nurse practitioners have years of experience taking care of children and adolescents. But what really sets us apart is the friendly personalities and warm bedside manner of all of our providers.
Ghazala Khalid, MD, FAAP
Dr. Ghazala Khalid is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing at Conyers Pediatrics since 1999. She completed her internship at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and assumed her residency training at the Albert Einstein Medical Center. Before joining the current practice, she worked with a multi-specialty group in Anderson, South Carolina. Dr. Khalid is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and she regularly volunteers and organizes community health programs in the metro-Atlanta area.
Dr. Khalid is married and has two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and traveling.
Hugo Scornik, MD, FAAP
Dr. Hugo Scornik is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing at Conyers Pediatrics since 1997. He received his medical degree from the University of Florida and completed his residency training at the Children's Hospital of Alabama (the University of Alabama at Birmingham). He is a board-certified fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Scornik has held various roles with the American Academy of Pediatrics on both the state and national levels including serving as President of the Georgia AAP from 2020-2022.
Dr. Scornik is married to Staci and they have two young adult children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, jogging, and reading.
Kaitlyn Johnson, MD, FAAP
Dr. Kaitlyn Johnson is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing at Conyers Pediatrics since August 2022. She completed her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU in Richmond VA in June 2022. Dr. Johnson is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In her spare time, Dr. Johnson loves to hike, camp, and travel to new countries or national parks in the US. Locally, you can find her exploring new restaurants.
Jamie Woods Green, MD, FAAP
Dr. Jamie Woods Green is a board certified pediatrician who joined the Conyers Pediatrics practice in 2019. She has a Masters in Public Health from Georgia State University, obtained her medical degree from the American University of Antigua, and completed her pediatric residency through Mercer University School of Medicine at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
Dr. Woods Green grew up in Conyers and she and her husband Lee have two boys, Miles and Kai! In her free time she enjoys cooking, trivia nights, exploring the outdoors and finding new restaurants to try.
April Joseph, MSN, APRN FNP-BC
April Joseph, MSN, APRN FNP-BC is a board-certified nurse practitioner who joined Conyers Pediatrics, PC in June 2023. April was born in Ft Wayne, IN but grew up in Decatur, GA. She enjoys traveling. Her favorite sports are NFL football and gymnastics, as her youngest daughter is a traveling gymnast. Her favorite teams are of course, the Atlanta Falcons & the Indianapolis Colts. April is a mother of three children.
